Celebrate Japan: Itami Juzo

Itami Juzo had his first success as a film director in 1984 with O-soshiki (The Funeral), his take on death and its attendant ceremonies in Japan. A year or two later came Tampopo, a noodle western, which was about another great obsession in Japan – food. Watch this short clip for a master class in how to eat ramen (noodles in soup).

Now, that’s what I call a relationship with food.
